Meeting people in Asok & Phrom Phong
Asok and Phrom Phong are the crossroads of expat Bangkok: big malls, green parks, co-working spaces and two of the best-connected stations in the city.
The vibe
Asok is where the BTS Sukhumvit line meets the MRT, which makes it the easiest meeting point in the city. One stop east, Phrom Phong mixes shopping malls, Japanese restaurants and Benjasiri Park. Many newcomers to Bangkok live here in their first year, so it is full of people looking to build a social circle.
Good places to start
- Benjasiri and Benjakitti parks: runners, yoga groups and long walks at sunset.
- Co-working spaces: many organise community events, talks and after-work drinks.
- Hotel bars and rooftops: busy with travellers and residents every night of the week.
A note on nightlife
Some streets around Asok are known for adult nightlife. HelloHere only partners with venues where everyone can feel comfortable, and we check every venue before it joins.
